In a positive turn of events, Region 10 has seen a significant reduction of 50% in road accidents, according to Traffic Inspector Sherwin Henry.

Speaking on the Road Safety & You program, Henry attributed this achievement to increased education and awareness campaigns focusing on road safety.

He emphasized the vital role of ongoing sensitization efforts, particularly for individuals who are new to traversing the region’s roads.

Henry underscored the importance of addressing the high incidence of accidents involving motorcyclists.

To tackle this issue, the Traffic Department has implemented strategic measures and patrols to monitor accident-prone areas effectively.

Efforts are also underway to curb speeding and enforce helmet-wearing regulations among motorcyclists to further enhance road safety measures.

Despite initial skepticism from some members of the community, the impact of these initiatives has been profound, positively affecting the lives of many residents.

The decline in accidents reflects a concerted effort by local authorities to prioritize road safety and underscores the effectiveness of proactive measures in reducing road-related fatalities and injuries.
