Renowned international cricket commentator Joseph “Reds” Pereira has arrived in Guyana to conduct a much-anticipated commentators’ workshop at the Bourda cricket ground pavilion.
The long-awaited workshop, themed ‘Taking it to another level,’ aims to enhance the skills of participants in the field of commentary.
The workshop will feature addresses from Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Kashif Muhammad, and President of the Guyana Cricket Board, Bissoondyal Singh.
Other presenters include former Test cricketer and international Match Referee Reon King, veteran broadcaster Russell Lancaster, and business executive Ramsay Ali.
Notable figures like former West Indies CEO Bruce Aanensen, commentators Alexis Jordan, Colin Murray, and Sunil Ramdeen, as well as journalists Lance Whittaker, Tony McWatt, and Nasser Khan, are also set to contribute.
Apart from the workshop, the University of Guyana’s Tain Campus is set to confer an Honorary Doctorate on Reds Pereira on Thursday, November 16, in Berbice.
The long-time sports administrator will also be inducted into the Berbice Cricket Board’s Wall of Fame.
The recognition by the educational institution is a humbling experience for Reds Pereira.
