Progress at Port Mourant Oil and Gas Training College and Hospitality Institute

Construction work is advancing smoothly at the Oil and Gas Training College and the Hospitality Institute in Port Mourant, as reported by Region Six Chairman David Armogan.

The Port Mourant Training Centre is undergoing transformation into a national training facility aimed at preparing Guyanese youth for careers in the oil and gas and hospitality sectors.

The government has allocated over $160 million for the first phase of the project, and construction activities are progressing well on both facilities.

Chairman David Armogan provided an update, stating that the structure for the oil and gas school has been erected.

Armogan emphasized the government’s understanding of the importance of education and the necessity of equipping youths with the skills required for success.

He anticipates that the completion of these institutes will lead to increased commercial activities in the Port Mourant area.

These developments align with the government’s broader vision to transform Region 6, creating new and sustainable job opportunities to empower the local population and enhance their participation in the regional economy.
