In a major push to bridge the gap between job seekers and companies, Minister of Labour and Manpower Planning, Keoma Griffith, has called for the private sector to strengthen its partnership with the National Job Bank.
The private sector is being reminded of the important role they play in supporting the job bank, which connects job seekers to work.
In his appearance on the Starting Point Podcast, Minister Griffith revealed that almost 17,000 employers have joined the National Job Bank initiative in the last five years.

Further, 2,960 people were matched to vacancies and 1,837 were successful in securing active employment. But there is a need for more companies to step up and Minister Griffith those who haven’t, to register and support the effort,
“I want to take this opportunity and call on the private sector to support the job Bank to let us know when you have opportunities available so that we can match skilled and competent persons to your employment,” he said.
And in a direct message to job seekers, he urged them to check out the job bank as labor shortages do exist.
“So you can access the job bank by a telephone call to the ministry of labour, you can access it through our website or you can come into the ministry of labour,” he added.
