The Private Sector Commission (PSC) has expressed strong support for the government’s efforts to promote inclusivity and transparency in its one-off cash grant initiative.
The program, designed to provide $100,000 to approximately 600,000 citizens, aims to enhance financial equity and stimulate economic activity.
According to the PSC, this initiative will have a significant impact on disposable income, allowing beneficiaries to spend on goods and services, invest, or save.
The commission highlighted the broader economic benefits of such measures, noting their potential to improve living standards and foster economic resilience.
In addition to the cash grant, the PSC commended other government measures, including a $10,000 healthcare grant for children, an increase in the tax deduction for dependents, and the removal of tertiary education fees.
These initiatives are expected to provide sustained financial relief and improve access to essential services for citizens.
The distribution of the $100,000 grants will begin shortly, with enhanced verification systems in place to ensure accountability.
While most grants will be issued via cheques, arrangements have been made to facilitate cash distribution in hinterland regions.
The PSC views these measures as pivotal steps toward economic inclusivity and improving the quality of life for citizens across the country.
