President Irfaan Ali Addresses Concerns During Kitty Walkabout

President Dr. Irfaan Ali conducted a walkabout in Kitty, Georgetown, addressing concerns raised by residents.

Among the issues highlighted were improper drainage, irrigation, poor roadways leading to flooding, dumping of debris, and security matters.

In response to these concerns, President Ali pledged to develop a comprehensive plan to swiftly deal with the issues and provide immediate relief to the residents.

He assigned the Ministries of Public Works, Local Government, and Regional Development to ensure that the identified challenges are addressed.

President Ali emphasized that the plan would not only focus on short-term solutions but also involve long-term strategies for drainage and community maintenance.

He highlighted the need for collaboration with councillors to develop sustainable approaches.

Residents expressing security concerns received prompt solutions from the President.

He committed to establishing a police outpost in the area while reconstructing the police station.

Additionally, he pledged to address issues such as removing derelict items from the community and cleaning and maintaining overgrown and littered alleyways.

The President was accompanied by several government ministers, city council members, and community leaders during the walkabout.
