President Irfaan Ali conducted an outreach to residents of Ithaca and neighboring communities on the West Coast of Berbice, addressing various issues affecting them.
After attentively listening to the concerns raised, the President provided on-the-spot solutions to some problems and assured residents that others would be resolved promptly.
Residents voiced grievances about deplorable roads, inadequate drainage and irrigation, security concerns, and access to quality water supply.
In response, President Ali pledged immediate intervention by mobilizing equipment and materials to alleviate these issues.
Addressing the concern of insufficient streetlights, the President highlighted that the budget for the current year caters to this issue.
He assured residents along the West Coast of Berbice and other parts of the country that they are set to benefit from improvements in street lighting.
President Ali also announced plans for collaboration between the Ministries of Labour and Agriculture with the Ithaca Co-op Society.
The objective is to engage youths in agriculture, providing them with opportunities in the sector.
Additionally, initiatives for the construction of a recreational facility and a play park for children in the community were unveiled.
The President’s engagement reflects a commitment to addressing the immediate needs of residents and fostering development in West Coast Berbice.
