President Hosts Dinner for Indigenous Leaders at State House

In a gesture underscoring his administration’s commitment to Guyana’s indigenous communities, President Irfaan Ali hosted a dinner at State House on the evening of Aug 22, 2024.

The event was part of the closing activities of the National Toshaos Council (NTC) Conference.

During the dinner, President Ali highlighted his government’s significant investments in indigenous culture, emphasizing the nation’s pride in showcasing Amerindian heritage at various national, regional, and international events.

He also reaffirmed the close relationship between the PPP/C government and the indigenous people, describing them as integral family members of the nation.

Attendees of the dinner included key cabinet members such as Prime Minister Mark Phillips and Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, along with other prominent leaders.

This dinner served as a meaningful conclusion to the NTC Conference, celebrating the ongoing collaboration and shared values between the government and indigenous communities.
