During a community meeting on Thursday, President Dr. Irfaan Ali assured residents of Melanie Damishana that he would collaborate with them on an agricultural innovation plan to foster development in the area.
A prominent community member, James Bond, shared the residents’ efforts in organizing themselves and clearing acres of land for agricultural production.
However, he emphasized the need for additional support to take the initiative further.
In response, President Ali expressed his enthusiasm for the community’s interest in agriculture and committed to using five acres of land for poultry farming and other agricultural initiatives.
He believes this could evolve into a viable business model that benefits the region.
Additionally, President Ali mentioned a plan to revive breadfruit production in the area, noting its potential as a key agricultural product.
President Ali also visited Non-Pariel, where he engaged with residents to address challenges in security, sanitation, and community facilities.
He reiterated his ongoing commitment to visiting various communities, listening to concerns, and taking action to address them.
The President’s engagement highlights his dedication to supporting community-driven initiatives and promoting sustainable agricultural growth across the country.
