President Ali Unveils Plans for New Hockey Facility

Georgetown, Guyana — President Dr. Irfaan Ali has revealed intentions to establish a state-of-the-art hockey facility in partnership with Saints Stanislaus College and the Guyana Hockey Board.

This announcement was made during an event at the college, highlighting the community’s ongoing efforts to secure a dedicated venue for hockey.

Saints Stanislaus College, which hosts an active youth hockey program, has long sought a proper facility to enhance training and competitive opportunities for players.

In discussions with Chris Fernandes, the Chair of the Board of Governors, President Ali acknowledged the need for significant financial investment to bring this vision to fruition.

The facility is planned for a designated area at Durban Park, which has already been prepared and fenced for development.

The President emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the project aligns with international standards and meets the needs of the hockey community.

The government is dedicated to working alongside various partners to realize this goal, fostering a sense of unity and pride in building a premier venue for the sport in Guyana.
