President Ali Reaffirms Government’s Commitment to Improving Lives on Labour Day

In his Labour Day message to the nation, President Dr. Irfaan Ali reiterated the government’s steadfast commitment to enhancing the lives of public servants and the working class across Guyana.

Highlighting the significant investments and interventions made by the government, President Ali emphasized that these initiatives have collectively injected billions of dollars in disposable income back into the hands of workers.

Notably, he pointed out the across-the-board salary increases provided to public servants since 2020 as a testament to the government’s dedication to improving the livelihoods of its citizens.

Beyond salary adjustments, President Ali underscored other measures taken by the government to uplift various sectors, including education and health.

He cited increased allocations to these vital areas, along with the granting of over 21,000 scholarships under the Guyana Online Academy of Learning and the creation of part-time job opportunities for hundreds of citizens.

Looking ahead, President Ali expressed the government’s commitment to sustaining this positive trajectory. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that every Guyanese, including workers, enjoy a prosperous future and live in conditions of prosperity.

He called for unity and collaboration among all citizens to continue advancing towards further progress and prosperity for the nation.

Labour Day serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to improve the welfare of workers and the broader population, reflecting the government’s dedication to fostering growth and development across Guyana.
