President Ali Pledges $1.5 Million to Dharm Shala on Christmas Day

President Irfaan Ali has announced a generous commitment of $1.5 million to the Dharm Shala – Home of the Benevolence, located in Albousystown.

The announcement was made during the president’s annual Christmas Day lunch for the residents of Dharm Shala.

Commending the dedication of the management and staff of Dharm Shala for their continuous care for the elderly, President Ali acknowledged the institution’s demonstration of the core values of love and care, despite facing numerous challenges.

During his address, President Ali emphasized the importance of celebrating the invaluable contributions made by the elderly population to the country’s development.

He expressed the government’s commitment to supporting the institution.

Last year, President Ali had donated $2 million to Dharm Shala and announced the waiver of water charges for the institution.

Additionally, as part of the Christmas festivities, the President distributed toys to children in the community.

The residents of Dharm Shala enjoyed a special Christmas lunch accompanied by musical entertainment, providing a festive atmosphere for the senior citizens.
