President Ali Leads Successful Blood Drive at State House

President Dr. Irfaan Ali hosted the “Heroes Come in All Types 2.0” blood drive at State House today, continuing the tradition of supporting the National Blood Transfusion Services.

The event was organized by the Rotary Club of Georgetown in partnership with the Rotaract Club of Georgetown and the Rotaract Club of the University of Guyana.

The blood drive aimed to address the critical shortage of blood in hospitals across the country and strengthen the capacity of the National Blood Transfusion Services. Devindra Kissoon, President of the Rotary Club of Georgetown, highlighted the significance of blood donations and the urgent need for them.

The drive set a goal to collect between 80 to 100 units of blood, contributing to potential life-saving efforts and raising awareness about the vital importance of blood donation. Donors and Rotaract members shared their motivations for participating in this impactful initiative.

The successful blood drive at State House exemplified the power of collective action in serving the community’s health needs.
