President Ali Inspects Ongoing Market Construction in Leonora

President Dr. Irfaan Ali made a visit to the construction site of a market facility in Leonora, Region Three, where he engaged with vendors and shoppers, gaining insights into their products and prices.

The Head of State’s early morning visit aimed to assess the progress of the market’s construction and connect with the local community.

During his interaction with vendors, President Ali inquired about the origin of their products and the pricing strategies they employed.

One vendor mentioned sourcing products from Region One, while others highlighted their locally grown produce.

President Ali also inspected the construction of a tarmac area intended for vendors to conduct their trade, underscoring the government’s commitment to improving market infrastructure for the benefit of small businesses and consumers.

Accompanying the President on his visit was Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar, who affirmed plans to rehabilitate the access road to the market.

He assured that efforts would be made to address existing challenges such as slushy conditions, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enhancing market accessibility and functionality.

A meeting with vendors is scheduled for next Tuesday, indicating the government’s proactive approach to engaging stakeholders and addressing their concerns.

The visit to the Leonora market construction site underscores President Ali’s dedication to advancing community development and enhancing market facilities to support local businesses and economic growth in Region Three.
