President Dr. Irfaan Ali today inspected ongoing works at the state-of-the-art Hosororo Secondary School in Region One, which, once completed, is expected to become one of the most advanced educational institutions in Guyana.
The new school, designed with a campus-style layout, will accommodate over 1,000 students from riverine and remote areas of the region.
President Ali highlighted that the facility will be one of the most modern secondary school complexes in Guyana and the Caribbean, incorporating cutting-edge technology, construction techniques, and high-quality materials.
The school will feature living quarters for teachers, dormitories for students, laboratories, and a cafeteria—modern amenities aimed at enhancing the learning and overall experience for both students and staff.
Additionally, President Ali visited the ongoing construction of a one-kilometer access road in White Water Village, a project he had committed to during a visit to the region earlier this year.
The project has provided direct employment for 60 local residents.
Toshao Andrew Cox expressed gratitude to the President for fulfilling his promise, noting the positive transformation in the village due to government support.
