Guyana is actively pursuing partnerships with various countries to bolster its agricultural capacity and meet regional demand for agro-chemicals, President Dr. Irfaan Ali revealed during the opening of the 38th Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean.
President Ali emphasized Guyana’s commitment to collaborating with other nations to facilitate the export of agro-chemicals, including fertilizers and pesticides.
Specifically, he highlighted ongoing discussions with Cuba to ensure the realization of this strategic plan.
Additionally, Guyana is closely cooperating with the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA) to enhance agricultural production and expansion efforts.
These partnerships underscore Guyana’s proactive approach to agricultural development and regional cooperation.
Moreover, Guyana has taken a lead role in the Caribbean agriculture sector with the establishment of the Regional Food Hub.
