President Ali Engages Region 7 Communities in Two-Day Outreach

President Dr. Irfaan Ali’s commitment to engaging remote communities in Region Seven continued with visits to Karrau, Dagg Point, and Bartica.

Over the course of a two-day outreach initiative, President Ali interacted directly with residents, addressing their concerns and outlining government plans for the region.

During these engagements, President Ali emphasized the importance of agricultural activities and encouraged residents to actively participate in farming endeavors.

He assured them of full government support, including assistance in finding markets for their produce, signaling a commitment to boosting the region’s agricultural sector.

In Daag Point, President Ali unveiled the government’s intention to establish a citrus farm, highlighting plans for agricultural expansion and economic diversification in the area.

This announcement underscored the administration’s efforts to promote sustainable development and create opportunities for local communities.

In response to residents’ requests for infrastructure support in Karrau, President Ali announced the purchase of an excavator to aid in land clearing and development for cultivation.

This investment reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing the region’s infrastructure and facilitating economic growth at the community level.

During his visit to Bartica, President Ali outlined comprehensive economic development plans tailored to each region.

For Region Seven, the focus is on transforming it into a key producer of goods and services for the hinterland.

Additionally, he announced the operationalization of two large mines, which will provide training and employment opportunities for over 700 individuals, further contributing to the region’s economic advancement.

Throughout the meetings, President Ali addressed various community needs, including requests for infrastructure improvements such as roads and streetlights, as well as small machinery.

He also mandated state agencies to follow up on concerns raised by residents, demonstrating the government’s commitment to addressing local needs and fostering inclusive development.

President Ali’s two-day outreach in Region Seven reflects a holistic approach to community development, emphasizing empowerment, economic growth, and infrastructure enhancement.

As the government continues its engagement with communities across Guyana, initiatives aimed at promoting prosperity and improving living standards remain a top priority.
