President Dr. Irfaan Ali joined the Hindu community at the Enmore Shiv Mandir for the fourth session of the Gyaan Yagna, a spiritual lecture series aimed at eliminating ignorance through the fire of knowledge.
The session, filled with devotion and reflection, emphasized the importance of collective devotion and its transformative power in shaping a united society.
In his address, President Ali highlighted the significance of collective devotion, noting that while individuals can pray alone, coming together in shared devotion strengthens the connection to both the divine and to each other.
He stressed that collective devotion fosters unity and challenges selfishness, calling for a focus on the collective good rather than individual biases.
“Imagine what a different world it would be if everyone removed selfishness and biases, embracing the collective objective of benefiting the whole of humanity,” President Ali remarked.
He encouraged the gathering to think beyond personal interests and instead, dedicate efforts toward the greater good of society.
President Ali also reflected on the role of devotion in shaping consciousness, explaining that spiritual practices elevate one’s awareness and responsibilities.
He emphasized that this heightened consciousness should translate into societal values, building stronger communities and contributing to the development of the nation.
The Gyaan Yagna, inspired by the teachings of Swami Chinmayananda, uses the traditional Vedic yagna, a sacrificial fire ritual, to symbolize the burning away of ignorance in the light of spiritual knowledge.
This ongoing series is an important event for the Hindu community, offering deep insights into unity, wisdom, and spiritual growth.
