President Ali Emphasizes Human Resource Transformation in Oil and Gas Sector

At the 12th Annual Consultation with Caribbean Governors of the IDB held at the Guyana Marriott Hotel in Kingston, President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali underscored the importance of transforming Guyana’s human resources to meet the demands of the burgeoning oil and gas sector.

In his address, President Ali emphasized the need to utilize investments in training facilities to enhance the capabilities of Guyana’s workforce, particularly in the context of the country’s newfound position in the oil and gas industry.

He highlighted the upcoming second phase of the project, which aims to train all maritime resource assets not only within Guyana but also across the region.

This initiative seeks to ensure that Guyana’s workforce is equipped with the necessary skills and expertise to effectively contribute to the sector’s growth.

President Ali also provided updates on other key projects, including the advancement of plans for a biodiversity center in Guyana.

Additionally, he mentioned the establishment of a new medical school in Region Six, which is expected to benefit both the region and the country as a whole.

The President’s remarks reflect the government’s commitment to investing in human capital development and leveraging resources to maximize the potential of Guyana’s workforce in various sectors, particularly in response to the opportunities presented by the oil and gas industry.
