President Ali Announces Development Initiatives for Santa Aratack

By Josiah Williams

Santa Aratack residents can look forward to a transformed community as President Dr. Irfaan Ali unveiled plans during a recent visit.

President Ali outlined several projects aimed at enhancing Santa Aratack, including new agricultural programs focused on honey, coconut, and citrus production.

He highlighted the planting of 500 coconut trees and over 200 citrus plants, envisioning expanded agricultural output and potential eco-lodges in the area.

A dedicated committee will oversee honey production, supported by government provisions of 25 hives, equipment, and training for local residents.

Infrastructure upgrades were also announced, including the construction of a new well and a $10 million investment in upgrading the community’s water distribution system.

President Ali assured residents that work on the new well, awarded to Kissoon Contracting Services for $19 million, will commence within two weeks.

Environmental initiatives will include bi-annual cleanings of the community creek, with the first scheduled by month-end.

Additional commitments include providing a 40-horsepower engine and boat, and refurbishing the school’s kitchen and fence.

President Ali emphasized collaborative efforts with Santa Aratack residents to achieve these development goals and improve their quality of life.
