What began as a murmur between two presidents became a river between two nations and what grew between us was not diplomacy alone. It was something softer, rarer, it was fraternity. To me , president Santhoki was like a brother,” he said.

President Ali said he and Chandrikapersad shared a common vision, believing their countries’ futures were closely linked, with the river serving as a lifeline uniting their peoples, especially in areas of trade, security, and business.

Chandrikapersaud Santhoki knew the true partnership  between states must live in and true people, markets and the small boats traversing the river that links us,” the Guyanese leader stated.

He also recalled shared moments with himself, the late Surinamese Prime Minister and Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley, noting the strong camaraderie among regional leaders.
