He said while Guyana enjoys peace, many around the world do not, and stressed the importance of valuing and preserving it.

He highlighted inner peace as central to Islam, pointing to remembrance of Allah, contentment, and trust in divine will.

Dr. Ali also emphasised patience in hardship, gratitude in times of ease, and the need to purify the heart from negative traits.

And what allows us to achieve the highest level of inner peace. It is contentment. Contentment with the Creator and pleased with his decree. If we stop allowing ourselves to be driven by any other objective, we will enjoy this highest level of inner peace,” he said.

He urged stronger family bonds, reminding citizens of their duty to parents, elders, and community.

The President encouraged reconciliation among relatives, calling on Guyanese to set aside differences and embrace forgiveness this Eid.

Too many of our families are broken by siblings fighting against each other. Fighting against each other for what? Let this Eid be the one in which you bury your pride. And regardless of the circumstances, pick up the phone and call your sibling and just say, Eid Mubarak,” he implored.

He concluded by wishing the nation Eid Mubarak and urging all to spread peace, kindness, and unity.

Meanwhile, Hundreds gathered at the Leonora residence of President Ali today to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, sharing meals and fellowship at the end of the holy month.
