Preparations Underway for International Building Expo 2024

With less than a month remaining until the highly anticipated International Building Expo 2024, over 85% of booths have already been allocated, reflecting strong interest from companies eager to showcase their products and services.

Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, recently conducted a walkthrough of the venue at the National Stadium in Providence, expressing satisfaction with the progress made so far.

Scheduled to take place from August 8–11, the expo promises to be a significant event for the construction and building sector in Guyana.

Minister Croal highlighted the extensive preparations underway, including the construction of booths and the diverse range of exhibitors set to participate.

He noted the networking opportunities that will be available, emphasizing the event’s importance in fostering collaborations within the industry.

Minister Croal revealed that the expo will feature a total of 341 spaces or booths, with participation not only from local businesses but also from international companies.

Companies from countries such as Italy, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, the United States, and India have already signed up to showcase their innovations and services.

The expo will kick off with the ‘Dream Realised’ Housing Drive, followed by the unveiling of the master plan for Silica City, highlighting key developments in Guyana’s housing and urban planning sectors.

The event will also include land allocation exercises focused on Regions 4 and 3, aimed at promoting equitable access to land for housing and development.

Under the theme “Building on the Foundation of Sustainability and Unity,” the International Building Expo 2024 aims to promote sustainable practices and unity within the building and construction industry.

Minister Croal encouraged businesses interested in sponsorship or participation to contact the ministry promptly to secure their spots.

As Guyana prepares to host this premier event, anticipation is high among stakeholders and attendees, who are eager to explore the latest advancements in construction, housing, and urban development.
