Guyana’s Minister of Sport, Charles Ramson Jr., expressed satisfaction with the progress made in preparations for hosting matches in the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from June 4 to June 20, and Guyana is one of the host nations.

In 2023, officials from the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Cricket West Indies (CWI) conducted a venue inspection tour at the National Stadium, Providence, to evaluate the preparations.

Minister Ramson mentioned that the work at the facilities aligns with the requirements set by the ICC.

During a media interview, Minister Ramson emphasized his confidence in the ongoing upgrades, stating that he is not worried about meeting the necessary standards for hosting the tournament.

The focus is on modernization and technological advancements to ensure optimal coverage of the matches.

Guyana is one of the host nations along with Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.

The preparations aim to provide a world-class environment for the teams and spectators during the T20 World Cup.
