The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) is actively fulfilling its commitments made during the 2023 local government elections campaign, according to Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, the General Secretary of the party.
Over the past week, he engaged with several communities to discuss and implement various development projects.
Communities nationwide are experiencing tangible improvements, including road enhancements, agricultural initiatives, and upgrades to community grounds.
Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo emphasized that these endeavors are a direct result of extensive consultations with residents. Among the areas benefitting are Laing Avenue, Riverview in Ruimveldt, Yarrow Dam in La Penitence, and Foulis and Enterprise on the East Coast of Demerara.
The PPP is actively working to supply planting materials to farmers in Region One and will soon initiate the tendering process for road projects in the Berbice region.
In addition to these efforts, upgrades are underway for community grounds, including Plaisance and others in Berbice County. Over $400 million has been allocated for the enhancement of more than 110 community roads. The party has also committed $50 million to a Home Improvement Programme for families residing in Laing Avenue and Yarrow Dam. This initiative is set to benefit around 300 families, improving their living conditions.
