PPP/C Honours Region Five’s Top Performers in CSEC and NGSA Exams

The Peoples Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) celebrated the exceptional achievements of students in Region Five who excelled in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and the National Grade Six Assessments (NGSA) exams.

The award ceremony took place at Dereck’s Residence in Dundee Mahaicony.

A select group of the region’s highest achievers were presented with prizes and trophies to commend their outstanding performances. Zulfikar Mustapha, the Executive Secretary of the PPP/C and Minister of Agriculture, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the students. He emphasized that their accomplishments signify the initial steps towards their future endeavors.

Mustapha expressed, “As a government, we consider our children as our country’s future, and we strongly believe that exposure and opportunities in attaining proper and sound education are essential given that they play a crucial role in a student having a bright future… It is students like you who are responsible for the continuous growth and development of our country. It is against that background, that our government is so committed to enhancing our educational sector even more than in previous years.”

Faizal Jafarally, a PPP Member of Parliament, urged the students to persist in their pursuit of academic excellence.

Malique Washington, a student from Rosignol Secondary School, emerged as the region’s top CSEC performer, securing an impressive 12 grade ones, six grade twos, and two grade threes. Meanwhile, Diana Hariprasad, the highest-ranking NGSA student in Region Five, achieved an outstanding score of 502.1 points and earned a placement at Queens College.

The event not only celebrated the accomplishments of these students but also highlighted the PPP/C’s dedication to fostering educational growth and development in the region.
