Linden residents had the opportunity to attend a Procurement Open Day hosted by the Public Procurement Commission (PPC) at the Linden/Georgetown bus park on Republic Avenue.
The event, aimed at increasing public understanding of the procurement process, was designed to inform the community about how the system works and address any questions or concerns from attendees.
During the open day, PPC officials provided valuable insights into how individuals can tender for contracts, file complaints, and understand debarment procedures.
The event also highlighted the PPC’s role in ensuring transparency and fairness in the country’s procurement procedures.
The PPC also offers training sessions to help both suppliers and procuring entities better understand procurement guidelines.
These training sessions are intended to equip individuals and businesses with the knowledge they need to navigate the procurement system effectively.
This event in Linden was part of a series of similar outreach activities planned for other regions.
The PPC has announced that future open days will be held in Regions Three and Five to continue promoting awareness and engagement in the procurement process.
The Public Procurement Commission, an independent constitutional body, plays a critical role in ensuring transparency, fairness, and equity in public procurement across Guyana.
