Police in Linden are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 56-year-old food vendor, Nigel Somersall, from the Wismar Housing Scheme and West Watooka.
According to reports, Somersall was ambushed and gunned down around 3:40 AM on Monday morning while heading home.
His body was discovered by a cousin lying motionless next to his motorcycle at his farm.
Nicola Stewart, Somersall’s partner and mother of his children, shared that she was informed of his death early in the morning.
She also revealed that Somersall had been scheduled to return to court on Wednesday for a previous incident where he had been shot last year.
Stewart expressed her hope that the perpetrator would be caught swiftly, and justice would be served.
Somersall leaves behind Stewart and nine children.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
