Police Division Ten Honors Officers at Annual Christmas Luncheon and Awards Ceremony

On Tuesday, December 19, the Guyana Police Force’s Regional Division Ten held its annual Christmas Luncheon and Awards Ceremony at the Watooka Guesthouse in Linden.

The event recognized the outstanding achievements of officers, community policing groups, and other key stakeholders for their contributions throughout the year.

Inspector Barkoye of the Wismar Police Station was named Division Ten’s Best Cop for his exemplary service.

Constable 28783 Niles, stationed at the Bamia Checkpoint, earned the runner-up position for his exceptional performance in enforcing anti-crime measures.

The second runner-up was Woman Corporal 21736 Rihanna Williams, who was recognized for her efforts in traffic management at the Amelia’s Ward outpost.

The awardees received monetary prizes and plaques in recognition of their dedication and hard work.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Magistrate Rushell Liverpool and Assistant Commissioner of Police Administration Ravindranath Budhram, who commended the officers for their discipline and integrity, encouraging them to continue their service with dedication.

Divisional Commander Guy Nurse also highlighted the division’s significant achievements for the year, including a notable improvement in crime-solving rates, a reduction in traffic violations, and successful efforts in combating narcotics and firearm trafficking.

He emphasized the importance of community engagement and youth programs in strengthening the relationship between the police and the public while providing young people with positive opportunities.

The event underscored the commitment of the Guyana Police Force in ensuring a safer and more secure community in Region Ten.
