PM’s Wife Welcomes New Year’s Day Babies at GPHC

In a heartwarming gesture, Mrs. Mignon Phillips, the wife of the Prime Minister, visited the maternity ward of the Georgetown Public Hospital on New Year’s Day.

Bearing gifts for the seven babies born up to the time of her visit, Mrs. Phillips expressed deep joy and excitement.

Filling in for First Lady Arya Ali, Mrs. Phillips spoke passionately about the significance of motherhood, highlighting it as one of life’s greatest gifts.

She emphasized the responsibility and privilege of caring for and nurturing another human being, underscoring the resources required to support a child’s growth.

During her visit, Mrs. Phillips encouraged the new mothers to invest in the development of their children, expressing her wishes for their dreams in terms of growth and development to come true.

Her visit aimed to foster a sense of appreciation and recognition for the invaluable role mothers play in society.

Medical Director Dr. Navindranauth Rambaran extended thanks to the hard-working staff of the maternity ward.

While there were already seven new babies at the time of the visit, the hospital anticipated the numbers to rise.

Little Akeelah, born to Odessa Babb at 12:38, was the first baby to welcome the New Year.

The visit served as a touching reminder of the crucial role mothers play in nurturing the future generation.
