Pinktober 2023: GTT Advocates for Cancer Awareness

On Friday, GTT inaugurated Pinktober 2023, adopting the theme, “Many Hands, Caring Hearts,” in a dedicated effort to bolster Breast Cancer awareness.

Pinktober 2023 commences on October 1st, featuring customary events like the tree wrapping ceremony and Breast Cancer awareness walk, alongside new additions.

Notably, the Marriott hotel will host a Night of Hope Gala this year.

During the launch event, donations were presented to various NGOs, including the Giving Hope Foundation, Cancer Institute Guyana, and Periwinkle Club.

Dr. Latoya Gooding, representing the Giving Hope Foundation, emphasized the impact they are making in cancer care. She stressed the importance of raising awareness for various forms of cancer, not just breast cancer.

Pameshywarie Seodat, a representative from the Cancer Institute Guyana, urged individuals to take control of their health and join in spreading awareness for breast cancer and Pinktober 2023.

Throughout Pinktober, GTT aims to raise 30 million dollars to support NGOs engaged in cancer awareness and prevention. This endeavor will rely on sponsorship packages, donations, and the assistance of cellular service users.

Jasmin Harris, Senior Manager of PR and Corporate Communication, expressed gratitude for the social media engagement and encouraged personal discussions about the planned initiatives. She underscored the power of collective determination, compassion, and purpose in achieving a shared outcome.

GTT’s primary objective is to heighten cancer awareness in Guyana, focusing on crucial areas like screening, treatment, and management. The company urges citizens to explore their website for deeper insights into their initiatives and upcoming events, and to discover how they can actively engage as Champions of Hope.
