Phillips updates on Rosignol Daily Market construction

-by Kyler Rollins

Construction of the Rosignol Daily Market is moving according to schedule. This update was given by Region Five Chairman, Recardo Phillips.

Construction of the prefabricated structure began in January 2026 with a 6-month timeline for completion.

According to the chairman, the roof will be completed by this weekend and the tarmac and sanitary facilities, in the coming weeks.

When completed the facility will house approximately 40 vendors.

“Only yesterday [I met] with the vendors and some residents of Rosignol and they are happy about the project. They see the project as a meaningful investment that government has made to boost their livelihoods,” he told NCN.

The chairman says vendors and shoppers can look forward to improved facilities and hassle-free shopping.

You have a well paved concrete tarmac to vend on which will be allocated into various sections for dry goods, fish and meat and vegetables. There’ll be improved sanitary facilities and hand-washing facilities so they can maintain cleanliness,” he added.

To facilitate the construction vendors have been temporarily relocated to the weekend market along Carriage Road, Rosignol.
