The Petra Organisation, hosts of the 5th KFC International Goodwill Schools Football Tournament, facilitated a cultural exchange programme on Monday evening at the Umana Yana.

The event aimed to foster camaraderie among the student-athletes beyond the football field.

Eight participating schools—Clarendon College (Jamaica), St. Benedict College and Speyside High School (Trinidad and Tobago), Hassan Khan Community College (Suriname), and local teams Chase Academy, Dolphin Secondary, Annai Secondary, and DC Caesar Fox—engaged in a night of cultural presentations, including poetry, dance, and music.

The initiative received support from Nicholas Fraser, Head of the Allied Arts Department at the Ministry of Education, who highlighted the importance of incorporating cultural experiences into sporting events.

KFC Guyana’s Marketing Director, Sadia Strand, also emphasized the company’s commitment to youth development through sports.

Tournament Administrator Troy Peters expressed gratitude to all involved, noting that such activities help shape the players beyond the game.

The KFC Goodwill International Schools Football Tournament will conclude on Sunday, December 22, at the Ministry of Education Ground. Clarendon College enters as the defending champion.
