The much-anticipated distribution of the $100,000 cash grant for pensioners commenced on Monday in Linden, with the Bayroc Community Center serving as the first distribution site.

The process is set to continue this week, reaching various locations across the town, including Mattie’s and Wismar, with the McKenzie pensioners to benefit next week.

The distribution has been smooth, with pensioners and their relatives expressing gratitude for the efficiency of the process.

Olive DeSouza, a local pensioner, shared her joy: “I feel so delighted… I’m glad to get my grant and I know exactly what I’m going to do with it.”

Relatives of pensioners also praised the efforts of those involved in the distribution.

Lilly Spencer, a relative, mentioned, “I must say that I am happy… they are working diligently.”

While some pensioners, such as Vanessa Saywack, noted that the process was a bit hectic, they were appreciative of the fast pace, saying, “It was kind of hectic but it went well.”

Burnadette Robertson, another pensioner, shared her satisfaction, stating, “I feel very great… I didn’t have any problems, thank God.”

Winston Flue also expressed his thanks, saying, “First and foremost, I must say thank you… for making sure the pensioners receive their grant.”

The distribution will continue this week in various areas on the Wismar shore, including the Vanhersal Residence West Watooka on Wednesday, the Wismar Post Office on Thursday, and the Christianburg Community Center on Friday.

Next week, the distribution will move to the McKenzie shore.

Pensioners are reminded to bring a valid form of identification, ideally the one they used to register, when collecting the grant.

Shut-ins will have their grants delivered to their homes.
