Chasing a target of 150 runs for victory, the Patriots faced a tough challenge. However, it was Andre Fletcher’s steely resolve that ultimately sealed the win. Fletcher’s masterful innings, culminating with a winning shot off the penultimate ball, proved to be the decisive moment in the match.

The Patriots faced early setbacks, losing key players Evin Lewis, Will Smeed, and Jyd Goolie, leaving them at 49 for three after six overs. Yet, a resilient partnership between Sherfane Rutherford and Fletcher saw the team’s fortunes rise. Unfortunately, Rutherford’s dismissal in the 12th over put additional pressure on the Patriots.

Despite the odds, Fletcher held his nerve, guiding his team steadily towards the target. His remarkable 93 runs ultimately proved instrumental in securing the Patriots’ first victory of this year’s CPL tournament.

Earlier in the match, the St. Lucia Kings managed to post a total of 149 for seven, with Johnson Charles being the top scorer with 42 runs. Ashmead Nedd was the standout bowler for the Patriots, taking two wickets for just 14 runs in his four overs.

Reflecting on the match, the team captain of the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots expressed his satisfaction with the win and commended the exceptional performance of Ashmead Nedd. Despite being out of contention for the playoffs, the team is determined to finish the tournament on a high note.
