Palmyra BPO to Employ Over 300 Berbicians at New Call Center Facility

Palmyra BPO is set to boost employment opportunities in Region Six with plans to hire over 300 Berbicians for its new call center facility.

The job fair organized by Palmyra BPO attracted more than 200 individuals eager to secure positions at the recently constructed government-backed call center in Palmyra.

Arnold Narain, a representative of Red Road Holding Inc., shared insights during the job fair, indicating that the selection process would occur incrementally, with 50 individuals chosen at a time for training and subsequent employment.

The company initially plans to operate with one shift during the day, with the potential for expansion based on demand.

Joseph Carella, Operations Manager at BPO, highlighted the responsibilities of Customer Service Representatives, who will handle both inbound and outbound calls.

Carella expressed the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in Guyana, emphasizing the goal of providing valuable job opportunities for the local population.

BPO has been operating in Guyana since 2019, with one of its call centers located in Georgetown.

The move to establish a call center in Palmyra represents a significant step in decentralizing employment opportunities and fostering economic development in Region Six.

The job fair’s success and the company’s plans reflect a positive trajectory for job creation and economic growth in the region.
