More than 50 residents of Region Three have graduated from various training programs offered by the Board of Industrial Training (BIT).
The graduation ceremony was held at Riverside Hall in Bagotville, West Bank Demerara, marking the successful completion of courses in fields such as general building construction, electrical installation, welding, and information technology.
One of the graduates, Jermaine Lewis, participated in the welding course alongside his son and daughter.
He described the program as an invaluable opportunity that brought new experiences and challenges, enhancing their family business.
BIT’s Chief Executive Officer, Richard Maughn, spoke at the event, encouraging the graduates to continue developing their skills through ongoing education.
He emphasized that receiving a certificate does not mark the end of learning and urged the participants to embrace lifelong learning as a pathway to professional growth and success.
The skills acquired through these programs have significantly impacted the lives of the participants, enhancing their professional development and income-generating potential.
Most of the graduates have already secured employment in their respective fields.
This achievement highlights the importance of vocational training and skill development in fostering local talent and supporting economic growth in the community.
