The National Aquatic Centre, Lilliendaal, over the weekend, witnessed the official launch of the summer edition of the ‘Teach Dem Young’ Swimming program, with more than 2,000 youths set to participate.

Accompanied by their parents, hundreds of young swimmers embarked on the month-long swimming program, which is now in its third year and is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport and the National Sports Commission.

The primary objectives of the ‘Teach Dem Young’ program are to nurture national athletes, promote overall health and wellness, and impart valuable life lessons to the youth of Guyana.

During the launch, Minister of Sports Charles Ramson Jr. emphasized the significance of physical activities, particularly for the country’s young population. He also acknowledged the crucial role played by parents in setting goals that motivate children to achieve success.
