Edge Sports Management is set to host its inaugural Summer Showdown Table Tennis Tournament, with over one million Guyana dollars in prizes.
The event, spearheaded by two-time Olympian Chelsea Edghill and sponsored by KFC Guyana, promises to elevate the school holiday period with intense competition.
The tournament is scheduled for July 5 at the Guyana Olympic House in Liliendaal.
Both senior and junior players will compete for championship honors, bringing together some of Guyana’s top table tennis talent.
At the tournament launch, Edghill highlighted that the event aims to replicate the organization and execution of the Caribbean championships, providing local athletes with a similar high-level competitive experience.
Director of Marketing at KFC Guyana, Sadia Strand, expressed her team’s enthusiasm for the tournament and encouraged players to sign up, emphasizing the international caliber of the event.
She noted that KFC is fully backing the initiative and looks forward to supporting Edghill and her team’s endeavors.
