LINDEN, GUYANA – More than 1,700 pensioners in Linden have successfully received their $100,000 cash grant following several days of distribution across various communities in Region 10.

The Regional Democratic Council (RDC) began the exercise on January 27, 2025, starting with Wismar, followed by McKenzie, and concluding on Monday with pensioners from Coomacka and Old England.

Pensioner Winston Davis described the process as “very smooth,” expressing appreciation for the efficient distribution.

Similarly, Joy Antigua, another recipient, praised the organization of the exercise, stating that “everything is okay.”

The grant distribution targeted old-age pensioners, NIS pensioners, and persons with disabilities, ensuring financial relief for many.

While most recipients have already collected their cheques, those who missed the scheduled distributions can still uplift their grants at the RDC office.

For some pensioners, the grant is more than just financial aid—it’s an opportunity for self-improvement.

Reginal Fox shared his gratitude, revealing that he plans to invest in medical care for his eyes.

Meanwhile, the Department of Public Information (DPI) has announced that distribution schedules for other regions, including Regions Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, and Ten, will be published within the week.

The cash grant initiative continues to bring much-needed support to pensioners across Guyana, reinforcing the government’s commitment to assisting the elderly and vulnerable populations.
