More than 12,000 Guyanese have been trained in various technical and vocational areas over the past four years, according to the Ministry of Labour.
These training programs have covered fields such as Occupational Safety and Health, Automotive Electrical, Heavy-Duty Operation, Cake Decoration, and Events Décor.
The Ministry continues to focus on empowering citizens with practical skills, with 46 percent of the participants being women.
To expand these opportunities, new training centres are being constructed in Regions 1, 2, and 6, including a facility in Tuschen.
These efforts are part of the government’s broader initiative to invest in the nation’s human development, supporting growth in the labour market and ensuring that citizens are equipped with the skills needed for diverse job opportunities.
