One Guyana Diwali Jalsa Set to Illuminate Corriverton Recreational Park

The One Guyana Diwali Jalsa Committee is gearing up for a spectacular five-night celebration at the Corriverton Recreational Park, marking the first of its kind in Region Six.

The event promises five evenings of wholesome family entertainment, including cultural presentations, a food exhibition, spiritual reflections, and various activities for children.

Members of the One Guyana Diwali Jalsa Committee convened over the weekend to discuss and finalize plans for this highly anticipated event.

Coordinator Omeshwar Sirikishun revealed that the entire park will be adorned with vibrant lights and traditional diyas (lamps).

Additionally, a Mandir will be set up, providing attendees with a serene space for prayer and reflection.

Sirikishun reported an enthusiastic response from exhibitors, with over 14 expressing interest in setting up booths at the event.

He outlined the diverse range of activities planned, including singing, religious dances, and the participation of 73 mandirs from across the region.

He also expressed the committee’s hope to involve more youth in religious activities, aiming to create an environment that fosters spiritual growth and engagement.

The Diwali Jalsa is scheduled to take place from November 7th to November 11th at the Corriverton Recreational Park, promising a unifying and enriching experience for all attendees.
