In a night of electrifying performances, Osei Clarke, better known as OKC, emerged victorious as the 2024 Calypso Monarch during the competition held on Saturday night at the Tabatinga Sport Complex in Lethem, Region Nine.
With a captivating presentation and powerful vocals, OKC captured the hearts of residents and supporters alike, claiming the coveted crown with his mesmerizing performance.
Reflecting on his achievement, OKC expressed his gratitude and shared his excitement about continuing the legacy of his family, particularly his great aunt who was a two-time Calypso Monarch of Guyana.
He expressed his determination to uphold this legacy for generations to come.
Meanwhile, Vinel Hinds clinched the title of Junior Calypso Monarch for the year. Hinds, filled with determination, expressed his commitment to continue pushing his music career to greater heights.
Theodora Dehnert secured the second position in the Junior category, followed by Simeon Raywaram in third place and Angel Ellis in fourth.
In the Senior category, Young Bill Rogers & Ego tied for the second position, with Queen Makeba securing the third place.
The event showcased the vibrant culture and talent present in the region, providing a platform for artists to shine and entertain the audience with their unique performances.
