Alroy Nurse’s standout performance with 16 points led the North Ruimveldt Ravens to a commanding 53-34 victory over the Stabroek Eagles in the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) under 23 League at the National Gymnasium.

The match was characterized by strong defensive efforts from the Ravens, who asserted their dominance early and maintained control throughout the game.

Leading in every quarter, the Ravens set the tone by ending the first half with a solid 26-12 lead.

Captain Atilla Williamson credited their victory to their defensive prowess, emphasizing their preparation for the upcoming high-paced game against Kwakwani.

Meanwhile, Eagles’ head coach Courtenay Taylor attributed their loss to inexperience and a lack of discipline among his players, acknowledging that some were overwhelmed by the intensity of the game.

The GABA under 23 League, sponsored by Wilson Plumbing Supplies and General Services and supported by the National Sports Commission through the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport, continues to showcase emerging basketball talent in Guyana.
