Vice President and PPP General Secretary, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, has assured Guyanese citizens that no one will be denied the $100,000 cash grant, urging patience as the distribution process continues across various regions.

At a party press conference today, Dr. Jagdeo confirmed that the registration process for the grant is underway in Regions 1, 4, 7, 8, and 9.

He emphasized that the government, through the Ministry of Finance, is working diligently to ensure that the funds reach all eligible citizens as quickly as possible.

The distribution of the grants is expected to be completed within four weeks for these regions, with cheques being distributed either immediately or shortly after.

Dr. Jagdeo assured those who may miss the current round of registration that they will still be eligible for the grant.

He stated that while 95% of registrations in these regions may be completed initially, the remaining 5% will be registered at a later time, ensuring they receive their cheques.

The registration and distribution exercise will focus on these five regions first, and once completed, it will extend to the other regions.

Dr. Jagdeo also clarified that this registration process will not need to be repeated for future cash grant distributions.

However, he made it clear that overseas Guyanese are eligible for the grant but must be physically present in the country to register and receive their cheques, as no overseas registration centres will be available.
