Nicholas Verway Leads Strong Start in GSA E-Net Senior Nationals

The Guyana Squash Association/E-net Senior Nationals kicked off with a bang as Caribbean Champion Nicholas Verway showcased his winning form in a thrilling match against Louis Da Silva.

In a rematch of the Under 19 final, Verway displayed his prowess, clinching victory with scores of 11-3, 11-7, 4-11, and 11-1.

Speaking after the match, Verway expressed satisfaction with his performance against the formidable opponent, emphasizing his pride in the win and determination to continue performing at his best.

Verway, who is also the National and Caribbean Junior Squash Champion, exuded confidence in his ability to vie for the senior title, citing his recent success and dedication to giving his all on the court.

In other matches, the women’s veterans category witnessed Anna Perreira triumphing over Tian Edwards, while Kirsten Gomes dominated in the women’s national draw against Safirah Sumner.

In the men’s national draw, Steven Xavier secured a commanding victory over Regan Pollard.

The evening concluded with Lee Fung-A-Fat and Shiloh Asregado securing wins in their respective matches.

Asregado, reflecting on his victory, highlighted the competitive spirit of the game, even when facing friends on the court.

The Guyana Squash Association E-net Nationals promises more thrilling action until March 21st, as players from across the country compete for top honors.
