Pooran’s scintillating innings of 102 runs off just 53 balls, delivered by the Barbados Royals, laid the foundation for the Knight Riders’ imposing total of 208 for 6. Alongside, Martin Guptill contributed with 37 runs, and Andre Russell added a pivotal 39. The Royals’ Jason Holder managed to secure two wickets.

In response, Kyle Mayers exhibited an impressive performance, notching up a 45-ball 70, anchoring the innings. However, he struggled to find a reliable partner, leading to the Royals closing at 166 for 7.

Earlier in the day, the Trinbago Knight Riders women’s team kept their playoff hopes alive with a hard-fought 13-run victory over the Barbados Royals in the Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League. Trinbago posted a competitive total of 155 for 3. Deandra Dottin played a pivotal role with a captain’s knock of 47, supported by thirties from Kycia Knight and Mignon Du Preez. Barbados’ Hayley Matthews took 2 wickets for 23.

The Trinbago Knight Riders Women’s team secured a hard-fought 13-run win against the Barbados Royals.

During the chase, Matthews showcased her all-around capabilities, contributing an impressive 45 from 33 balls, while Gaby Lewis smashed 62. However, after their departure, the Royals struggled to maintain momentum, ultimately ending at 142 for 7. Zaida James emerged as the top-performing bowler, claiming two crucial wickets.

This victory signifies a significant turnaround for Trinbago, who find themselves at the bottom of the three-team table. Barbados remains at the top, closely followed by the Warriors in second place.
