A new player has entered the local market as Guyana’s economy continues to expand.

West Tech Shipping, a St. Lucian-owned shopping company, is making its mark in Guyana by offering hassle-free services to the business community.

Operations Supervisor Aminata Austin shared insights about the company’s offerings in a recent interview sponsored by Republic Bank.

West Tech Shipping provides shipping services both by air and sea, with rates of $700 per lb locally and $1500 per cubic ft via sea.

Additionally, the company offers purchasing services at a rate of GY $213 to each US dollar, aiming to make online shopping more accessible to Guyanese consumers.

These services have garnered support from various sectors, including government agencies and the private sector.

Austin emphasized that West Tech Shipping’s services are currently concentrated in and around the capital city but expressed intentions to expand operations to other regions, particularly Linden and Berbice.

The company’s goal is to provide reliable and hassle-free services to its customers, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.

One of the key features of West Tech Shipping’s service is its tracking system, which provides real-time updates to customers.

This system ensures transparency and allows customers to stay informed about the status of their packages from the moment they are shipped until they reach their destination.

With offices in various Caribbean countries, including St. Lucia, St. Kitts & Nevis, Grenada, St. Maarten, Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dominica, and Antigua and Barbuda, West Tech Shipping has established a strong regional presence.

As the company continues to expand its operations in Guyana, it aims to provide efficient and reliable shipping solutions to meet the growing demand in the market.
