to enhance gov’t service delivery

Citizens and public servants now have a direct channel to raise concerns, suggest improvements, and help shape the delivery of government services through “The Voice”, a new online platform launched by Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation, Zulfikar Ally.

The initiative is expected to give people faster access to decision-makers by allowing users to report workplace and service-related issues, submit recommendations and receive direct responses from the minister, with the aim of improving efficiency and resolving problems across the public sector. Speaking during an interview, Minister Ally explained that the platform addresses the gap where valuable ideas from frontline workers and the public often fail to reach decision-makers.

“There are people who have so many good ideas within the various agencies and ministries that we have and often time we don’t get the opportunity and time to speak with them to hear either one what are the challenges or recommendations to fix issues within the public service that we can serve the people better,” he said.

Ally, who personally reviews the submissions, noted that the platform has already produced positive results.

These engagements have been very insightful, I love the fact that the conversations that we’re having, move from just the challenge the person have to recommendations that they have, how you can make the public service more efficient how we can make the work that they’re doing more efficient and it has been fantastic so far,” the minister said.

According to the Minister, many of the interactions have evolved from complaints into constructive discussions about strengthening government services.

Available through mpsmandate.gov.gy, the web-based platform can be accessed from a mobile phone, tablet or computer. Users can submit suggestions, report workplace or service-related challenges and recommend ways to improve government operations.
