New Land Surveyors Sworn In, Urged to Contribute to National Development

By Josiah Williams

A new cohort of six land surveyors has been officially sworn in, marking a significant step towards advancing the country’s development initiatives.

The ceremony took place earlier today, with President Dr. Irfaan Ali administering the Oath of Office.

The newly sworn-in land surveyors are Navendra Looknauth, Joel Trotman, Ramnaresh Persaud, Thamesh Persaud, Keimo Cornelius, and Kishawn Critchlow.

During the ceremony, President Ali emphasized the vital role that land surveyors play in national development.

He urged the new professionals to uphold high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in their careers.

The President highlighted the potential for land surveyors to make a lasting impact through their skills and competence, contributing significantly to the country’s infrastructural and developmental projects.

Enrique Monize, Commissioner and CEO of the Guyana Lands and Survey Commission (GLSC), also extended congratulations to the new surveyors.

Monize commended them for successfully passing rigorous examinations and encouraged them to pursue further education and development in their field.

Land surveyors collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and builders to create accurate surveys and maps of Earth’s surface features.

Their expertise is increasingly crucial as the country undertakes numerous infrastructural projects, driven by both government and private sector investments.

The new land surveyors are expected to contribute to these efforts, ensuring precise and reliable data to support the country’s ongoing development.
